Miles Braxton

In 2019, Miles embarked on a journey to diversify the clean energy candidate pool by creating a speaking series - Navigating a Clean Energy Career as Young Professional of Color - where he spoke at Yale, Duke, Columbia, the UNC Clean Tech Summit, and University of Southern California. Using these networks, he and few friends from U.Va. co-founded the BlackOak Collective, an organization for Black professionals dedicated to sustainability in the DMV. For his efforts, he was awarded the JEDI Champion Award from CELI in August 2020.

About this Speaker

Miles Braxton serves as an associate on Sol Customer Solutions’ (SCS) C&I solar and battery storage business development team. Miles investigates and engages potential clients in emerging solar markets, in addition to leading SCS’ B2B proposal generation in select markets across the country. This entails conducting early-stage project financial analysis, designing solar arrays, and conducting market research. While studying Environmental Science at U.Va., Miles' interest in renewable energy peaked from researching photonics and perovskite solar cells with the "Father of Photonics" - Dr. Mool Gupta. Continuing his education, Miles recently completed a year-long certificate in Financing and Deploying Clean Energy through the Yale Center of Business and Environment (CBEY).
